I kinda wish I was still in.... I would have so much fun doing "talks"!
I think I would just read all the scriptures to my 'householder' (haha!) and just say at the end, "so, do you understand?" she would reply "yes" and we'd walk off the stage! It seems like a Monte Python fun time!
since leaving the jw's after over 4 decades, i can see exactly what it is and hate everything it stands for.
however, there are still some jw habits and traits that i can't get rid of:.
1. i can't swear in general conversation (i'd have to be really angry).
The ONE thing that dies hard in me???? HIGHLIGHTING!!!!! I can't stop, haha!
not really sure in what forum this topic belongs -- trying to find out where kh or other jw org sells the jewelry that is donated to it..
It always made my shoulders twinge, and my head cringe when it was read from the stage that we could donate "cash, jewelry or other valuable personal property".. It lowered the dignity I gave them.... they seemed like "money grabbers".....
it would be interesting to know what prompted you to leave the organization?
what questions did the elders fail to answer?

i have not seen jehovah’s witnesses in my neighborhood for several years now.
it appears that the cart witnessing has taken over.
congregations are being consolidated and witnesses are being forced to travel a greater distance than before.the burdens/privileges of elders seem to be ever increasing!.
I wonder if you'd get "reproved" ... and eventually "get a marking talk" if you made one of your OWN carts and sat by it?
No rebellious, independent witnessing, right?
going through old junk and came across a 22 year old study watchtower, february 1996. looking at all my underlining and marking it was just nauseating how meaningless it all was.
this "study" wasn't study at all, just a by rote exercise, an old jw custom one of the primary motivations of which is to stop others from judging you as "weak" if they don't see it all desecrated, which must surely indicate a vigorous study session.
moving on to other articles i was confronted with more evidence of a cult that i was blind to the first time around, including an article praising those who died for refusing blood such as a pregnant mother and a boy pictured here.. .

her mother has alzheimer and is in a care facility for the rest of her life.
between medicare and caid she is paid for the care.

two weeks ago mrs. add and myself was driving home from shopping on a side street when we came upon a man laying on his back with his arms spread out in a t formation.
with no one in site we pulled over our van to help this person.
mrs.add went for her phone to call 911 and i got out of the van to see what i could do.
Wow, you are so lucky! and even now, you have to remain very cautious.
My husband and I were watching a show called Goliath on Amazon Prime about a very smart lawyer who tries to help people, who is always escaping with his life moment after moment. The last one we watched was about the cartel, And everything they are involved in. Sometimes they just knock off the witnesses to a crime, just because! Let's hope you are not dealing with the cartel or drugs or anyting exponential.
